About

Growing up on the west coast of Denmark, I’ve been around boats and ocean for my formative years. My family, for as long as we know, made a living on the ocean. Even though I deviated from my history, my connection to the oceans came from sailboats, which my father taught me how to handle. I am now on my 4th sailboat.

Marine Memories came about 30 years ago when we completed our first bareboat charter and we were looking for a way to compile our memories of our trip with our friends. I purchased a nautical chart and added photos and drew in the route and locations. We gave the chart to our friends, who loved it.

Fast forward 30 years, digital changes, and many charts later, I am offering this as a service to all fellow water lovers.

(Original chart made in 1994, hand-drawn and cut and paste.)

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than those you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the wind in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
